KARIS is the epitome of the complete artist: a profound and prolific songwriter, dancer/choreographer, singer, musician, budding music producer among several other talents/ skills that KARIS has acquired and developed. Growing up in Jamaica, KARIS was inevitably exposed to a rich artistic culture that did nothing less than fan the flames of a passion that she already had burning for the arts. Now, KARIS seeks to use her strong R&B influenced vocals and exceptional live presence to establish an imprint on the global music industry.
KARIS, throughout her time as an artist, has amassed several prestigious opportunities. This includes performing in the presence of former Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Right Honourable Portia Simpson – Miller and other dignitaries. Since her time in Canada, she has co-written and produced the music for the Youth Day Anthem which she performed in Yonge-Dundas Square, Toronto, Canada on Youth Day in Summer 2014 alongside her younger sister, Kara, and Juno award-winner, Liberty Silver. In 2017, KARIS was chosen to perform at the Mod Club Theatre, Toronto, as a featured Honey Jam Canada artist. KARIS has performed at various other venues and events including Parliament Hill (Ottawa), Queen’s Park (Toronto), the Canadian National Exhibition (Toronto) and Union Station (Toronto) as part of the TD Music Fridays series. Her original, “Small Talk” was a Top 100 CBC Searchlight 2018 entry out of over 2000 entries that year. KARIS has also worked alongside the National Campus Radio Association, Plan Canada and the Jamaican – Canadian Association.
